London 2012: 7 Cameroonian Athletes Abscond

Seven Cameroon athletes have disappeared while in Britain for the London Olympics, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education said on Monday evening.

The seven - five boxers, a swimmer and a soccer player - are suspected of having left to stay in Europe for economic reasons.

"What began as rumor has finally turned out to be true. Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated at the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village," David Ojong, the mission head said in a message sent to the ministry.

Ojong said a reserve goalkeeper for the women's soccer team, Drusille Ngako, was the first to disappear. She was not one of the 18 finally retained after pre-Olympic training in Scotland.

While her team-mates left for Coventry for their last preparatory encounter against New Zealand, she vanished. A few days later, swimmer Paul Ekane Edingue and his personal belongings were also not found in his room.

Ojong added that five boxers eliminated from the games, Thomas Essomba, Christian Donfack Adjoufack, Abdon Mewoli, Blaise Yepmou Mendouo and Serge Ambomo, disappeared on Sunday from the Olympic village.

International Olympic Committee officials said on Tuesday they had heard nothing about the missing athletes.

"We are unaware of it," IOC spokesman Mark Adams said when asked whether organizers had heard of it.

It is not the first time Cameroonian athletes have disappeared during international sports competitions.

At past Francophonie and Commonwealth games as well as junior soccer competitions, several Cameroonians have quit their delegation without official consent.

OLYMPIC UPDATE:Blessing Okagbare Dashes Nigeria's Hope As She Finishes 8th Position

After impressive performances in the heats and semifinals of the 100m dash, Blessing Okagbare failed to sustain the tempo when it mattered most as she finished a distant 8th in the final of the Women 100m dash at the London Olympic this evening.

The Nigeria sprinter clocked a disappointing time of 11.01 seconds.

160 million Nigerians were routing for her and pinned all hopes on her, expecting her to be the first athlete to earn the country its first medal at the London Olympics.

Jamaica’s Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce won the race with a record time of 10.75 seconds ahead of Carmelita Jeter of the USA and Veronica Cambell-Brown of Jamaica.

A 19-year-old boy in Japan was pronounced d*ad after m*st*rb*ting 39 times without stopping in Rubiato town, in Goiás region, Japan. His mother told a local newspaper that she already knew about her son's addiction and although she planned on him to get special help, her decision came too late.

At midnight, the young man began to mast*rb*te and because of his addiction could not stop, continuing to do it 39 individual times.

At school, his classmates commented on the boy's problem and some said he asked them to connect to the webcam so they could observe him.

They further said that his attraction to women was extreme; he was attracted to all kind of women, regardless of texture physics, color and age. In his room a great amount of pornography was found, including photographs and videos of nude women that were saved on his PC.

Million Dollar Question: Is Shan George Dating Mikel Obi?

The two stars in different spheres of endeavor were spotted recently at the VIP lounge of a nightclub alone.
While it would be unfair to preempt  that anything sinister is going on between actress Shan George and Chelsea’s Mikel Obi, the antecedent from one of the personae in picture is enough to ruffle feathers and raise eyebrow.

Shan George in her forties has dated younger men, many say she is a cougar. A cougar is a new term for an older woman who likes to go out with younger men.

None of the two have reacted to the story that they are an item and certainly this picture which is going viral online.

Just some weeks ago Shan George was credited with a statement with which she accused some of her married colleagues of sleeping around.

Time will tell if this is just a publicity stunt.
