Bishop Oyedepo denies slapping church member, says he cannot be sued

Nigeria’s richest pastor and multi billionaire, Bishop David of Living Faith Christian Church International popularly known as , has denied slapping a female member of his congregation.
The man of God further added that he or his church cannot be sued.
, in a notice of preliminary objection filed at the High Court of Ogun State, maintained that he and his church are “non juristic persons” and therefore asked the court to strike out the suit as it lacked jurisdiction to adjudicate on the matter.
A YouTube video clearly showing viciously slapping a young lady who admitted to that she was a witch for Jesus appeared last year.
A second video that surfaced days later showed the bishop justifying his action adding that it is “his ministry to slap” and that “if he sees another witch, he’ll slap.”
Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer, had in April, filed a suit on behalf of the young lady, who was slapped during a church service, for the enforcement of the lady’s fundamental rights to freedom from inhuman and degrading treatment, human dignity, fair hearing, and freedom from discrimination.
Mr. Igbinedion prayed the court to award the sum of N2bn as ‘general and exemplary damages’ against the bishop as well as compel him to publish a public apology in two national dailies and one international satellite television.
In a counter affidavit deposed by Olugbenga Adegboye, the church’s senior legal officer, stated that “his ministry is a ministry where the holy bible is preached and people are prayed for without coercion.”
The church also said that there is no record of anyone called Miss Justice – a sobriquet given to the young lady for the purpose of the suit – in any of its services organized in the past.
A written address to support the preliminary objection signed by F. B Agbanwu, the church’s Solicitor, insisted that the matter is not within the Nigeria constitution or the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights.
Furthermore, the church urged the court to determine whether Mr. Igbinedion is capable of “bringing this kind of application” before it and whether “it is proper to bring this application against the 1st and 2nd respondents (Bishop and his church respectively).
Arguing that both Mr. Igbinedion and the respondents cannot sue and be sued, Bishop Oyedepo’s lawyers noted that the cause of action must centre on clear infringement of a fundamental right.
“The cause of action or principal claim in this application centres merely on slapping one Miss Justice by the 1st respondent.
“The slapping of Miss Justice is an act that could be described as an assault which is a criminal offence punishable under the criminal code…
“We submit that slapping being an act of assault an item outside the provisions of Chapter 4 of the 1999 constitution and the African Charter, this court therefore lacks jurisdiction over same.”
The court sits, June 1, for parties to adopt their motion before judgment is fixed.

Big Brother: Goldie in heated argument with ‘boyfriend’ Prezzo

Prezzo and Goldie
After what has for long, seemed like a perfect match, it looks like Goldie and her boyfriend, Prezzo, may soon be breakin’ up. The duo got in a heated argument earlier today, going back and forth as Prezzo accused Goldie of taking him for granted.
You think I’m a bean bag. I’m gonna act up like this and he’s gonna be there‘, he said to her.
In response, a shocked Goldie flared up and tried to justify herself, ‘Do you think I’ve been quiet for no reason? Don’t you know when a woman is angry, it means she’s hurt‘, she said.
Meanwhile, earlier in the morning, Prezzo had confided in Zainab, about his surprise at Goldie’s display of insecurity in their relationship, but Zainab was more concerned about how the couple will survive outside of the house.
The two Upville lovebirds have been stuck to each other for a good part of their stay in the house.

Poverty pushed me into DRUG peddling: Taiwo Akinwande, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi

Am sure you will remember her Taiwo Akinwande, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi, is one of the most notable actresses in the Yoruba movie industry.

She joined the acting world in 1981 as an apprentice under Sunday Akinola (Mogaji Feyikogbon) but later left in 1989 to team up with the Tate Alade Aromire. The light-complexioned actress has appeared in so many movies that she has even lost count of them.

In this interview with BAYO ADEOYE, the actress who was arrested, prosecuted and convicted for drug peddling, spoke about the challenges she faced on her journey to stardom, her views about the Nigerian movie industry and her ordeal in detention when she was arrested and jailed for possession of hard drugs at the Lagos Airport.

How do you manage your family and your acting profession?

I'm managing very well. I thank God that my children are grown ups and they are on their own. When they were still young during that time I told you earlier, I had a junior who was staying with me then and assisted in looking after them for me. Whenever I was away then, I would drop money for them to eat and equally bought food stuffs at home for them. Then, I could leave for two or three months before returning. I thank God that He gave me only two and I was able to take good care of them.

So, how about your husband?

My husband is alive but we are no longer together.

What happened? It seems that most actresses don't keep their marriages

It's this job. I love this job more than my husband.

And you sacrificed your husband for this job?

Yes, because I so much love this job.

When you married him, was he not aware of what you were doing for a living?

I'd married my husband before I took up acting as profession. In fact, I'd given birth.

You children were born to your estranged husband; so why did you have to leave?

It was when he didn't like this job and I liked it. It was what I could regard asf conflict of interest.

So, you couldn't drop this job to save your marriage?

No, I can't drop it for any man. Never! In fact, never ever! Except when God calls me home; that's when I can be[ done. As long as I'm still alive withouti any ailment, V11 keep going.

So, you are not even thinking of quitting at a certain age?

No, I^n not thinking about that at all. I'm not engaged in any other job.

Could you recall your own movies you've produced?

They are numerous. I did 'Odun Mejo' and Salawa Abeni played the major role in that movie. I did 'Opa Ajobi, 'Ade Ori', 'Omo Okunrin', 'Jawonlaya', 'Oro Omo Le', 'Aje Niyonu', 'Egbogi Oloro', 'Ori OIowo L'ori Mi' and so many others.

After your brush with the law for being in possession of cocaine, how did you pick up your life from there?

Muslims believe that if anything happens to them, it's only mere trial. May God not allow us to get into a trial that we won't end. So, it's only a trial for me and God just tested my faith. Even when God wants to test a Christian, He will give him a little problem and if the problem should go ahead and bring him down, that's where he will end his life. But if such a problem should arise and the person who is with it believes God brought it, he can pray that God should lift it without looking here and there; and I believe that God will put an end to the problem and that particular person will stand on his feet once again.

What were you thinking then; was it a plot by someone?

No, I didn't see it as a plot by anyone. I just saw that while I was in detention, I was thanking God that He kept me for a certain purpose because I didn't know what happened. Who knows maybe if I were to be out there, I would have died. So, I kept thanking God and I couldn't even think anybody was looking at me. I thank God because I snouted onto God and He answered me. It is God that called me to this job and not any human being.

While in detention what was actually going through your mind. Did you ever think that you would come out or be j ailed?

I was only praying to almighty Allah to forgive me and protect me through the ordeal and He did.

What really pushed you into that act?

Maybe I allowed my love for money to get too much over me. I was actually very broke at that time. Then? I could not boast of N10,000 in my savmgs. It was that bad. It was actually a temptation. And I thank God for His mercy.

Didn't you face stigmatization and dejection even from your colleagues when you returned?

No, not at all. They were very supportive. Alhamdulilahi, they stood by me.

I’m Gay And The Head Of Illuminati In Nigeria....Charly Boy

Controversial maverick entertainment personality, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has set another record with his confession that he is gay. By so confessing, he becomes only the second publicly known gay man in Nigeria.

This is a record that Pastor Rowland Macaulay beat him to by being the first Nigerian to openly come out and even establish a church that catered for only gays. Those who know Charly Boy well however say he’s not someone who likes being a follower. He’s always a leader in everything he does and he’s now ready to take his rightful leadership position in the gay world. Continue to read…

In an interview with a new publication, Danfo Express, Charly Boy declared that he is gay and not ashamed of being gay.

Even as he made other disclosures about himself, he didn’t forget to add that he is the head of the Illuminati in Nigeria, the same Illuminati that people accuse Jay-Z, D’Banj and Don Jazzy of being members and they keep denying membership. While his audacious revelations might seem like a publicity stunt on his part, let’s not forget the popular saying ‘there’s no smoke with-out fire’. For Charly Boy to say all these things about himself there must be an element of truth in them.

As a judge on Nigerian Idol, not only did he impose himself on other judges, Yinka Davies and the American, Jeffrey Daniels, he was always going with a skull to the show and once even went with a huge snake that scared the audience.

“A Nigerian Senator Duped Me”—Pat Utomi

Pat Utomi, one of Nigeria’s prominent political economists and a former presidential aspirant,  offered an anecdote that unwittingly supported a widely reported statement by erstwhile President Olusegun Obasanjo that Nigeria’s National Assembly is filled with rogues.
Addressing a group of Christian youths in Lagos at an event themed “The Building Blocks of Effective Leadership,”  yesterday, Mr. Utomi touched on dysfunctions he had witnessed in the Nigerian system and x-rayed the difficulties of changing the system. His topic, “Towards Creating a Network of Corruption-Intolerant Youth Leaders,” presented a comparative analyses of Nigeria, once regarded as a powerful and emerging nation, and Indonesia, a nation that was once written off in the past
Mr. Utomi, who holds a PhD, spoke about the shocking twist of fate in which Nigeria became a strategic failure whilst Indonesia became a model of success. He identified corruption as a critical factor in the fortunes of the two countries.
Speaking through anecdotes, he related several instances of corruption involving Nigerian government officials and the aftermath of underdevelopment. Mr. Utomi disclosed that he had spoken out several times about the phenomenon of “intrinsic corruption” to the faces of public officials guilty of the crime.
He said: “I told Barth Nnaji and a host of governors, in a recent Town Hall meeting, that the problem they have currently is that Nigerians do not trust them,” said Mr. Utomi. He added, “I said, you, Yuguda, I have told journalists to publish your boutique, in terms of how many women are dying in child delivery because you spend that kind of money on your boutique rather than spend it to work for the people.”
But the most startling statement by Mr. Utomi came when he disclosed that a man who once duped him was now a senator. “A man who had 419’ed [duped] me in the past is now in the Senate. And I called the attention of a senior senator who is from the same state with the dupe, and who also knew about my dupe story with the man before, that this man is a thief and he was aware. The senior senator wanted me to keep quiet, and he said that is the problem with me, and that after all, seventy percent of government people are 419’s.”
Utomi, who quit the presidential race during last year’s election cycle, expressed the extreme difficulty of establishing a new order in Nigeria. He emphasized that those benefitting from the old system would do everything to resist any change. Even so, he stated that the youths were the only ones who have the ability to make the change.
“Youths can make these desired changes because you are not hostages of the errors of yesterday,” he said, adding that the challenge would be daunting because those benefiting from the current system “will do everything to resist the change.” He reminded the youths, “These old people are powerful and have the resources to influence anything.”
Mr. Utomi related the anecdote of a non-governmental organization located on Victoria Island in Lagos. Faced with absence of electric power to do their work, the NGO complained, said Mr. Utomi. “One of the bankers around then revealed to them that the banks are responsible for the outright lack of power supply because they are buying diesels for some companies and so they bribe the electricity workers not to provide power in order to continue to maintain their arrangement of buying more tons of diesels for their business to continue.”

JAMB reduces cutoff mark to 180 for Universities and 160 for Poly

They are as follows:
Universities: 180
Polytechnics: 160
Colleges of Education: 160
More than 1.5 million candidates registered for the 2012 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
27,266 candidates had their results withheld for various reasons.
The national cut-off mark for admissions to universities in Nigeria for 2012/2013 academic session was fixed at 180, while the board set 160 as the cut-off mark for admissions into polytechnics, colleges of education and other diploma-awarding institutions.
The cut-off points were decided in Abuja, on Monday, at the 2012 combined policy committee meeting on admissions to degree-awarding institutions, National Diploma (ND), Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and National Innovation Diploma-awarding institutions.
Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i, who chaired the meeting, urged the various institutions to adhere strictly to admission guidelines, which stipulated a 70:30 ratio for technology and non-technology for ND programmes and 60:40 science/arts ratio for the universities and colleges of education.
She also told them to observe the admission criteria of merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states in the Federal Government’s guidelines.
While commending JAMB for prompt release of the UTME results, the minister urged all the tertiary institutions in the country to establish e-testing centres, where the next UTME could be conducted.
Meanwhile, the Registrar and Chief Executive of JAMB, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde, speaking on the occasion, warned private universities in the country against conduct of illegal admissions of students.

Prophet Causes Panic after Raising Man from the Dead

A traditional healer from Bulawayo has left residents thunderstruck after he reportedly RAISED a man from the DEAD. Lovemore Chimbwenya (40) also doubles as a prophet.  Residents said Chimbwenya’s miracles have left them out of words.
“We used to hear that Chimbwenya was doing miracles at his home but never took the rumors seriously until reports started filtering through that he had raised a man from the dead,” said a neighbour identified as Mthabisi.
The young healer CONFIRMED having performed the miracle. However, this was after much persuasion as Chimbwenya had earlier on refused the news crew permission to interview him.
“Yes I did that, the man I raised had his soul temporarily seized by witches who wanted to turn him into a zombie. It’s only that I don’t want to boast about the things I do,” said Chimbwenya.
The healer said he does not like publicity. “It’s not good to be always in the papers. I have been helping a lot of people for a while now. I got a calling when I was 16 years old, and since then I have made the handicapped walk and the sick well.
Another resident said Chimbwenya had healed her handicapped brother.

WORLD LEADERS WATCHED THE EUROPEAN CHAMPION'S LEAGUE FINAL AT THE G8 SUMMIT!

As the G8 summit was ongoing at the retreat of the U.S. President in Camp David, something unusual was going on. The leaders took time off their deliberations of the Eurozone crisis and the Greek debt challenge to watch the European Champion League final between Bayern Munich and Chelsea. In the picture above shows the triumphant British PM shouting for joy with arms raised when Chelsea (a British side) won.
Notice the sad pout on the face of German chancellor, Angela Merkel, who could not hide her displeasure at the loss of German side Bayern.
But isn't President Obama as the host meant to be neutral? He doesn't look neutral in this photo. He could not hide his support for Chelsea.

Reports are that Dapo ‘D’banj‘ Oyebanjo is interested in signing rave of the moment act, Davido to the imprint he would be launching soon following split from Don Jazzy and would also have D’banj’s brother, Kay Switch on the roster.
A meeting and possible signing is reported to have taken place on wednesday with Davido’s father in attendance at the 19 years old’s Lekki home.
Their presence at the ATL’s strip club for Maybach Music’s Meek Mill together might buttress D’banj’s interested in the teenager.
Davido’s manager confirms the talk between both artistes but details of what is been proposed is still sketchy. Whether it would be a joint venture deal since Davido and his family run a successful label, HKN or the standing for B Red and Shina Rambo (both signed to HKN Records).

Chelsea Victory and what Frank Lampard Says!! A must read for all.

Frank Lampard says Chelsea winning the Champions League for the first time means everything to those at the club.

In a sensational final against Bayern Munich, the Blues were triumphant on penalties after a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes that had seen Arjen Robben miss a penalty in extra time.

Lampard captained Chelsea on the night and he admits finally securing victory in a competition that has been the Holy Grail for the Stamford Bridge club is something special.

"It means everything – we have been trying to do this for so many years now," he said after the match. "This is the one we really wanted and we have got it."

The England midfielder admitted it is difficult to comprehend how his side earned victory on the night, and praised Didier Drogba for his match winning performance.

"I cannot believe it," he said. "The determination we have shown has been unbelievable. We did not play fantastically well but the main man Didier Drogba dug us out of trouble there.

"He is a hero and without him we would not be here. He scores the goals in the big games. I would love him to stay. What he did tonight is what he has been doing all through his career."

How Ibori Is Making Millions From Prison-WeeklyTrust

James Ibori
Ibori you again????

By Shehu Abubakar, Zakariyya Adaramola, Monday Osayande, Asaba & Ibrahim Chonoko, London

Former Governor of Delta State James Ibori, who has since started his jail term in the UK after he was convicted of stealing $80m, is still making money through his companies. Weekly Trust reports.
The story of former Delta State governor James Ibori is not unlike that of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, even though they differ. Escobar was rich even though a criminal. At his peak, he owned numerous luxury residences, automobiles, and airplanes. Indeed, he even had a short-lived career in politics.
For James Ibori, the story sounds pretty imitating. During his trial in London, United Kingdom, the court heard that Ibori was able to afford luxury properties, fleets of Rolls Royces, a Bentley and a Maybach, first class travel, private boarding school fees and a private jet worth $20 million, far above what his salary as governor could give him.
And like Escobar, who continued to make money through his numerous ‘illegal’ businesses, even after he was jailed, Ibori is also believed to be making millions even as he commenced his prison term in the United Kingdom. In Delta State, for instance, the former governor is believed to be either the owner or one of the owners of ULO Consultants Limited, a construction and consulting firm handling several lucrative government projects in the state.
If this is so, as many of our sourced said it is, then Ibori is reaping billions of naira even as he is serving a jail term in London.
ULO is currently handling the construction of a gigantic building that is to be the new Government House, in Asaba. The company constructed Maryam Babangida Way, Asaba that links the Benin/Asaba expressway with Asaba town.
It is also handling the construction of the state’s Commissioner’s quarters’ road and its drainage work covering the old to the new Government House as well as the dualization of section “C” of the Asaba/Ughelli road.
Indeed, the company is one of the three companies handling the contract for the demolition of the hill at the Asaba international Airport which was awarded at N7.4 billion.
When contacted for comments over Ibori’s ownership of the company and other matters related to its operation, ULO Chief executive officer, Uche Okpuno said he does not speak to the press and cannot therefore answer any question from the reporter.
However, a source at the company’s office in Asaba told this reporter on condition of anonymity that Ibori has investment and financial interest in the company, adding that, “There is no record in this company to show that Ibori is either a shareholder or a director. But some of us who have been in the company when he was the governor of the state know he own it.”
“When you visit our office at Wuse Zone 5 in Abuja you will realize that we share the same office with Daily Independent Newspapers. Everybody knows he (Ibori) owns that newspaper company. We got the highest number of construction work from his administration. We are still enjoying the same patronage under the present administration in the state.
“But when you look at the list of our executive management and administration officers, you will not see his name there. We have Chief Uche Okpuno as the Group Chairman and chief executive officer, Barrister Sam Nwosu is the Company Secretary, Brian George Hartzenberg is the General Manager, Toyo Osai is Assistant General Manager, Timothy Oladosu, Operations Manager and Christine Plaatjies, Human Resource Manager,” the source said.
Another source at the company that also pleaded anonymity argued that Ibori has assisted the company so much with contracts when he was the governor of the state and it was the same Ibori that linked the company with the current Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration that is also patronizing the company. Don’t forget that Uduaghan is a cousin to Ibori.
Her Majesty’s Wandsworth Prison
Ibori is currently being held at Wandsworth Prison in South West London. He has been in detention at the prison since his extradition from Dubai, United Arab Emirate in April 2011. Built in 1851, Wandsworth is one of the largest prisons in the UK and Europe. It is a male prison and holds more than 1,660 prisoners at a time. It has sports and health facilities, including specialist clinics for asthma, diabetes and mental health. It also has facilities for education and vocational training, as well as a library and a chaplaincy team that caters for various faiths of its inmates.
However, at Ibori’s assets confiscation hearing on Wednesday, May 9, his defence team hinted that the former governor may be moved to a prison outside London. A staff at Wandsworth who declined to give their name said it was normal to move prisoners to other prisons after trial to make room for other prisoners or to ensure convicts are held at appropriate prisons.
Weekly Trust recalls that shortly after Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in jail on April 17, a London Metropolitan police detective said Ibori may be allowed by the Home Office to be sent to Nigeria to complete his prison term. He however emphasized that would happen only after all pending issues, including the confiscation of Ibori’s assets were completed.
‘Down but not out’
However, Prince Charles Abutoh, a computer hardware engineer is the Secretary-General of Oghara Clan Union, UK, which stood by former Delta state Governor James Ibori throughout his trial in London, said the former governor who is an Oghara himself, is facing his prison sentence like a man. He is psychologically prepared for it. His mind is made up. He regards his travails as one of those things of life. He is not bitter and he is looking forward to a good future. He is not down and he is not out. He is comfortable with the food in prison. He is not been fed from outside. You can’t take food into prison here. He is not missing anything – he exercises and mixes well with other inmates.”
‘Corrupt firms must be sanctioned’
Meanwhile, chairman of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL), Debo Adeniran said in an interview that the group would send petition to the Federal Government to stop patronizing any company with corruption cases pending against them. “We have informed the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP) to ensure compliance and we are going to impress it on BPP to ensure that Ibori’s companies are stopped from participating in government contracts pending the time they would be taken over as state property because they are set up from proceeds of crime. That is the way to stop him further looting in Delta State,” Adeniran said.
Also, he said, “Already we have advised the UK authority to put the loot in escrow account till the expiration of the present regime in Delta State.”
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which also has a case against Ibori, did not respond to Weekly Trust inquiries.

While some readers described the story as outright fabrication by the mother of the to to make money, others described it as one of the mysteries of Allah to demonstrate his presence in the affairs of humans.
Reacting to the story, Dr. Akinyemi of the All Souls Infirmary, Agege, laughed it off, saying it was a fiction.
“Wonders shall never end in this country. I have not seen such a thing since I started my medical practice many years ago. It is medically impossible. I’m not saying there is no magic, but the question we should ask is: ‘How did a get into the baby’s hand?’ So, it’s not possible”, Dr Akinyemi told P.M.News this afternoon.
According to Dr. Rotimi Adesanya, “the story is not true. It is not possible for a foreign object to be found in the hand of a baby during birth.”
Dr. Paul Akintelure of Broad Hospital, Ikotun, said: “medically, there is nothing like that. There is no way an inanimate object like the will enter the womb and come out with the baby in its palm. The matter should be investigated. It is strange.”
A matron at the Ikeja General Hospital, Lagos, dismissed the story outright, saying it was not possible for a baby to be born with a Quran in his hand. “What kind of nonsense is that? It is not possible. I have been in this hospital for a long time and I have taken delivery of several babies to know that such stories are not true. It cannot be proved scientifically,” she stated.
She said a similar incident was broadcast on a Lagos television programme sometime ago and when it was properly scrutinised, it was found to be a ruse.
Miss Becky Eromosele, a matron at Blue Sky Hospital in Egbeda area of Lagos also debunked the claim. She said she has been involved in the delivery of babies for seven years and has never seen such happen.
But Miss Eromosele said something similar happened in Benin City, Edo State about two or three years ago.
According to her, a sister took delivery of a baby who had a crystal white sheet of paper in its hand. And in the paper, it was written in gold, ‘Jesus is coming soon.’
The incident makes me to believe that anything can happen,” she said mockingly.
In her own reaction, a student, Anabell Nadal, said: “I have never witnessed such an incident before. I believe that something great and wonderful will soon happen in Nigeria.”
In her comment, Adebimpe Olaniya said: “What happened showed that the baby’s mother should have been a prominent person in the society because from her story, she had taken several drugs to abort the pregnancy, but God did not allow it to happen. I believe the baby was truly sent by God.”
Adeniyi Akinola, younger brother to the landlady of the house where Kikelomo delivered the baby said: “With God, all things are possible. The Bible says when it gets to the end time, you will see different strange things happening. I don’t see anything controversial about the baby.”
Bose Adeshina, a trader said: “I believe it is the Lord’s doing. My advice is that when a woman is pregnant and her man abandons her, she should not abort the foetus. She should keep and protect the pregnancy. What happened now is a lesson to women who have taken abortion as their pastime.”
A businessman, Sanyaolu Femi, expressed doubt about the story. “When I heard about the story of the baby born with a Quran in his hand, I did not believe it. So, I went to the house to see things for myself. Now, I believe. I pray for the boy to survive and become an important person in life,” he stated
A Muslim scholar, Ustadh Tajudeen Owode, described the birth of the baby as a sign from Allah to mankind to be holy. “The baby’s birth is one of the signs from Allah. He sent the boy with Quran in his hand to remind us of the need to be holy. I can tell you that the baby’s birth is a miracle. All those doubting the story are fools. They are dead spiritually. The story is real,” he stated.
An old Islamic cleric at Ijeshatedo, Surulere, Alhaji Usman Odekunle said: “I want people to check themselves and accept God. The incident serves as a lesson to other women that whenever they are pregnant, they should not abort, because you don’t know what the child will become. The story is true.”
Ifeoma Okafor, a student of the University of Lagos, , described the story as unbelievable. “It is unbelievable. When I heard of it, I decided to go to the house to confirm it. I saw the baby myself with the Quran in its palm,” she said.
To Vivian Opara, a student of the Lagos State University, LASU, the story sounds mysterious. “I got the information today and I told them it is not true. My reason is that people are going through tough times financially and this can make them go the extra mile to create something out of nothing. My question now is that since the mother said she is a Christian, why didn’t the baby come with the Bible? Finally, I will say it is mysterious,” he said.
Alhaji Imam Sulaimon, a.k.a. Were Nise Oluwa, a Muslim scholar, said: “What I can say is that it is the work of God. I witnessed a similar one in West Germany where Lailah-ilalahu, meaning There is no King but God, was written on a grass. The mother is a Christian before God granted her favour. This is a great thing done by Almighty Allah. There is nowhere God cannot perform miracles.”
